Yes. The calculator, history, GPS tagging, and CSV export are free forever. We're building a Pro tier with cloud sync and team features — that will be optional and paid.
▸Where does the gold price come from?
Live gold spot price is fetched from a public commodity-pricing source and cached for 10 minutes. You can override the price manually in settings if you trade off your own ticker.
▸Do I need to create an account?
No. MeltMate works without signup. Your transactions and settings live in your phone's local storage.
▸Is my data private?
Yes. Transaction history never leaves your device. Spot price is the only network call, and it sends no personal info.
▸Why isn't there a Bluetooth scale option?
iPhone Safari doesn't support Web Bluetooth, so we'd only be able to support Android. Manual entry works on every phone, every scale, every time. We'll add it once we ship a true native app.
▸Can I use this on a desktop computer?
Yes, meltmate.app works in any modern browser. The interface is optimized for phones because that's where buyers actually price deals.
▸Will you support silver, platinum, palladium?
Yes — they're on the roadmap, likely in the Pro tier.
▸Is the spot price accurate enough to actually pay sellers?
Spot price is a reference point. Always confirm against your live ticker before transacting. We display the source and last-update time so you can verify.
▸How do I install it as an app?
On iPhone: open in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android: open in Chrome → ⋮ menu → Install app.
